Course Content

  • Installation, commissioning and servicing of heating systems
  • Connection of solid fuel appliances to heating systems
  • Fault diagnosis and solution finding

Target Audience

This course is aimed at candidates with relevant plumbing and heating competence.

Pre–Requisites

  • Compulsory: HETAS Modules covering the Dry installer defined scope course certificate issued in the last five years
  • And N/SVQ Level 2/3 in Plumbing or equivalent earlier certification that provides evidence of competence;
  • Or N/SVQ Level 2/3 in Heating and Ventilating (Domestic Installation) or equivalent earlier certification that provides evidence of competence;
  • Or N/SVQ Level 2/3 in Heating and Ventilating (Industrial and Commercial Installation) or equivalent earlier certification that provides evidence of competence;
  • Or N/SVQ Level 2/3 in Oil-Fired Technical Services or equivalent earlier certification that provides evidence of competence;
  • Or N/SVQ Level 2/3 in Gas Installation and Maintenance or equivalent earlier certification that provides evidence of competence;
  • Or Gas Safe Registration that includes registration relating to ACS Unit CCN1;
  • Or OFTEC 101 or 102 certification;
  • Or appropriate previous work experience

A competence certificate is awarded upon successful completion of the course, enabling the candidate to apply for HETAS Competent Person Scheme registration for the installation of wet appliances.
